Sunscreen Etiquette satirises the visual language of influencer culture, where even the most ordinary moments become carefully staged performances for the camera. Based on a photograph of American influencer Sommer Ray, the painting exaggerates the familiar social media pose—turning the simple act of applying sunscreen into another opportunity for self-promotion. Balancing humour with observation, it explores how attention, sexuality and everyday life have become inseparable in the age of Instagram.
